Selective Post-Emergent Control of Bermudagrass & Grassy Weeds

Professional-grade grass control without harming labeled ornamentals or cool-season turf.

Ornamec® 170 Grass Herbicide is a selective, post-emergent herbicide designed to control Bermudagrass and other unwanted grassy weeds in tall fescue lawns, zoysiagrass, and ornamental landscape beds. Powered by fluazifop-P-butyl, Ornamec targets grassy weeds while leaving broadleaf ornamentals and labeled turf species unharmed when used as directed.

It is especially valuable for homeowners and professionals dealing with Bermudagrass contamination in cool-season lawns or managing grassy weeds in decorative landscape beds.

What It Controls

  • Bermudagrass (suppression and control in fescue and zoysia)
  • Crabgrass
  • Foxtail
  • Johnsongrass
  • Other annual and perennial grassy weeds

Why Choose Ornamec® 170

  • Selective Grass Control: Targets grassy weeds without injuring labeled broadleaf ornamentals.
  • Bermuda Removal Specialist: Ideal for suppressing Bermudagrass in tall fescue and zoysiagrass.
  • Landscape Bed Safe: Over-the-top application labeled for 400+ ornamental species.
  • Systemic Action: Stops grass growth within 48 hours; full control occurs within 1–3 weeks.
  • Flexible Use: Suitable for established ornamentals, transplants, and maintained turf areas.

How It Works

Ornamec contains fluazifop-P-butyl, an aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide that inhibits lipid production in grassy weeds. This disrupts essential growth processes, leading to gradual decline and death of the targeted grass without harming labeled desirable plants.

Where It Can Be Used

  • Tall Fescue lawns with Bermudagrass invasion
  • Zoysiagrass lawns needing Bermudagrass suppression
  • Landscape beds and ornamental plantings
  • Around shrubs, trees, flowers, and groundcovers (see label for approved species)

Application Guidelines

  • Apply during active growth of Bermudagrass or grassy weeds (late spring through summer).
  • Avoid applications during drought or extreme heat stress.
  • Mow prior to treatment for better coverage.
  • Use a calibrated sprayer for uniform application.
  • Repeat applications may be required for complete control.

Important Notes

  • Not labeled for all turf species — confirm turf tolerance before application.
  • Avoid spray overlap to prevent turf discoloration.
  • Always read and follow the complete product label.

Ornamec® 170 provides a targeted, effective solution for eliminating Bermudagrass and unwanted grassy weeds while preserving the integrity of your desired turf and ornamental plantings.

Reliable Cooling Power for My Workspace
Color: White, Color: White
This Honeywell TurboForce fan has been a perfect addition to my home office on Staten Island, providing a surprising amount of airflow for such a compact unit. The three speed settings allow me to adjust the intensity based on how warm the room gets, and I’ve found the 90-degree pivoting head incredibly useful for circulating air without having it blow directly on my desk papers. It runs remarkably quietly even on the highest setting, which is essential during long focus sessions or video calls. The white finish looks clean and professional on my tabletop, and the overall build quality feels sturdy enough to handle daily use throughout the summer months.

Small but powerful
Color: Black
This is a small but powerful, 3-speed fan with a 90 degree pivoting head. It's also good looking, lightweight, sturdy, and quiet. The controls are easy to reach and manipulate. The lowest speed was actually too powerful for the location I had in mind for it but I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to cool a room. You can easily cool a small room on just the lowest setting. I'm sad I have to return it but I need something a little less powerful for my desired location.

Smells amazingly like cherry, but expect a mess under the feeder.
Style: Wild Bird Food, Style: Wild Bird Food
This is a fantastic budget seed blend to keep your backyard feeders full during the busy seasons. I put a banana in the picture next to this massive 10-pound bag for scale, though I wouldn't recommend leaving the fruit out there unless you want to feed the local raccoons instead. The most surprising part of this bag is the smell—it has a very strong, sweet cherry scent right out of the bag that genuinely seems to bring in the local cardinals and blue jays faster than plain seed. THE GOOD: • The cherry flavoring actually works as an attractant, and the sheer volume of seed you get for the price makes this an excellent value for high-traffic yards. • It brings in a huge variety of ground-feeding birds, especially mourning doves and juncos. THE TRADE-OFF: • This is a "value" mix, which means it contains a very high percentage of filler seeds like milo and cracked corn. Finicky songbirds will actively kick the milo out of the hanging feeder to get to the black oil sunflower seeds, creating a massive pile of rejected seed on the ground. THE BOTTOM LINE: A great-smelling, budget-friendly birdseed that attracts a ton of wildlife, provided you don't mind the ground-feeders cleaning up the mess underneath.

Has attracted a mix of birds.
Style: Wild Bird Food
Great value for the price. Since putting this out, we’ve had so many different kinds of birds visiting our yard. The birds seem to love the mix, and it has definitely brought more activity to our feeders. I also compared prices before purchasing, and this was very comparable to similar products and bag sizes. Overall, it’s a quality bird seed at a fair price, and I would absolutely buy it again

Great for local birds
Style: Wild Bird Food
This bird seed has been a great find for attracting birds here in North Texas! Within just a couple of days of putting it out, we started seeing a noticeable increase in activity. It brings in a nice variety too—cardinals, finches, doves, and even the occasional blue jay. The mix seems fresh and well-balanced, with very little waste. I also appreciate that it doesn’t have a ton of filler seeds that birds usually ignore. Everything in the blend actually gets eaten, which makes it feel like a better value. It holds up well in our unpredictable Texas weather, and I haven’t had issues with mold or clumping. Overall, if you’re looking to attract a wide range of local birds and keep your feeder busy, this is definitely worth trying!
